Top Home Trends for 2022

FORM AND FUNCTION

Since Marie Kondo came onto the scene and taught us all about the evil of clutter, many of us have become more conscientious about what we bring into our homes. This only became more accentuated in recent years with many of us spending a disproportionate amount of time in our homes. We all understand, more than ever, that less truly is more. It is not about having all the new products, but the RIGHT products that work for you and your lifestyle. Finding the balance of functionality and aesthetics has become a priority in the home, and we will continue to see customers search for products that meet this expectation.

Less truly is more, and it is not about having all the new products, but the RIGHT products that work for you and your lifestyle.

The CAPRA PRESS was designed with this principle in mind - the balance of functionality and aesthetics. We wanted to design a product that not only brewed much better coffee, but looked better doing it.

QUALITY MATTERS

Sometimes in our disposable society, it is hard to remember that it was only a few generations ago that the items we bought for our home were made to last a lifetime – and did! We are beginning to see the shift to customers choosing to invest in higher quality, longer lasting items, especially in the kitchen. We love this trend because it has so many cascading benefits. Often higher quality items are better for you, better for the environment, better for local businesses and economies, and in the long run, they are typically more affordable.

The CAPRA PRESS is designed to last a lifetime. It is made with durable material and stainless steel parts. And if should any components of the CAPRA PRESS break (perish the thought!), its parts are replaceable and can be completely repaired.

KITCHEN FOCUS

It has long been said that the kitchen is the heart of the home. Still, it has taken a long time for kitchens to get the attention they deserve. Often when we think about furnishing our homes, the kitchen is not the first room that comes to mind. But the time has come for kitchens, and curating a functional and beautiful kitchen is a big trend that we see among customers this year.

ROUND IT OUT

Rounded edges are back baby, and they are showing up in every room in the home, from the bedroom to the living room to (our personal favourite) the kitchen. Incorporating curved design elements into your home can add a softness and playfulness to every room – and studies have shown that it can even boost happiness (yes, apparently people have studied this).

One of our favourite features of the CAPRA PRESS is the curved handle. The CAPRA PRESS’ handle is ergonomically designed for a comfortable hold that ensures the perfect pour. The shape also adds a unique elegance that makes the CAPRA PRESS look beautiful on every surface in the home.

BACK IN BLACK

The light and neutral colours that dominated home design in previous years is making way for darker colours. Similarly to the rounded edges trend, dark colours can add a softness and warmth to a room that is more difficult to achieve with light colours. Black especially is showing up in accent walls, furniture, and accessories, and transforming rooms powerfully into welcoming and comfortable spaces.

Incorporating black and other dark colours in the home can powerfully transform spaces.

The CAPRA PRESS is designed in black because of the timelessness and versatility of the colour. We wanted to create a product that truly looked perfect everywhere.
