THE CAPRA COLD BREW
- Measure out and grind your coffee beans. Use an extra coarse grind – this will help to prevent over-extraction during the extended immersion time.
- Add your grounds and cold water to the CAPRA PRESS. It will take some experimentation to find the perfect coffee grounds to water ratio for your taste. A good place to start is 1:17, as in 1 gram of coffee grounds to every 17 grams of water.
- Stir your grounds in the water to fully submerge.
- Place your PRESS in the fridge and let brew for 12 to 24 hours.
- Lower the plunger on the CAPRA PRESS – and voila! Your cold brew is ready to drink. Add a couple of ice cubes and enjoy.
TOP TIP: The longer you let your coffee brew in the fridge, the stronger it will be. If you like a strong cup, go for the 24 hour brew length.
THE GOAT PARTEA
You see what I did there? I'm sure you see what I did there.
- Measure out your loose-leaf tea leaves.
- Add your leaves and boiling water to the CAPRA PRESS. Again, it will take some experimentation to find the right ratio for your taste, but 3 grams of tea leaves for every 250 millilitres of water seems to be about right for most people.
- Stir your leaves into the water to fully submerge.
- Let your PRESS brew for 2 to 5 minutes. Some rules of thumb are 2 minutes for green tea, 3 minutes for white tea, and 5 minutes for black tea.
- Lower the plunge on the CAPRA PRESS and presto, enjoy your perfectly steeped tea!
TOP TIP: If you like a stronger tea, add more tea leaves instead of steeping for longer, as this will only extract more tannins making the tea bitter.
THE CAPRA CLASSIC
- Measure out and grind your coffee beans. Like a traditional French Press, the CAPRA PRESS is designed to work best with a coarse grind.
- Add your grounds and boiling water to the PRESS. Use a coffee grounds to water ratio of 1 gram of coffee grounds to every 7 grams of water unless you have a preferred ratio.
- Stir your grounds in the water to fully submerge.
- Let your PRESS brew for 4 minutes.
- Lower the plunger on the CAPRA PRESS and experience the CAPRA magic.
TOP TIP: Use a conical burr grinder instead of a blade grinder to grind your coffee beans, as conical burrs are much more effective at producing consistent grind sizes.
